SUMMARY:Eight Weeks in Ukraine 2023\; life during war
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nAfter a two-month stay in Ukraine in 2022\, I returned 
 to Ukraine in late September 2023. From the city of Lviv\, in western Ukra
 ine\, I traveled to lzky (in the Carpathian Mountains)\, to the capital\, 
 Kyiv\, as well as to the cities of Ternopil and Chortkiv.\nAs President of
  Ukrainian Charitable Platform https://ukrainecharitable.org/ the purpose
  of the 2023 trip was to continue engaging with Lviv-based Ukrainian Educa
 tion Platform\, a social-educational non-profit\, as well as Kviv-based El
 eos-Ukraine. Both organizations work through networks of local partner org
 anizations throughout the country\, serving the neediest\, including inter
 nally displaced women and children (IDPs)\, traumatized victims of Russian
  aggression.This trip also provided an opportunity to meet with scholarshi
 p students at Ukrainian Catholic University's School of Public Management.
 \nUkraine is experiencing a massive displacement of its citizenry due to t
 he Russian invasion\, now in its 10th year. According to the UN Refugee Ag
 ency (UNHCR)\, as of May 2023\, there were approximately 5.1 million IDPs 
 in Ukraine and as of July 2023\, 6.2 Ukrainian refugees outside of Ukraine
